About Taiyo Pilots

Taiyo Pilots, an exciting expansion within Taiyo Robotics takes the lead in the adrenaline-fueled battles of “Lunar City”.
In this game of Faction Wars, there’s no rest for the brave. Divided into four factions — Rebels, Enforcers, Operators, and Resistance — these daring Pilots fight tooth and nail for the valuable resource, Graphite ($GP). This precious SPL token not only fuels the Taiyo ecosystem but can be traded for real-world gains on various exchanges.

Utility

The primary advantage of holding a Pilot is earning $GP through the Faction Wars. This is how to get started.

Before going out to buy your pilot a few things must be understood.

Cores

Before going into battle, your player needs a “Battle ID”. In order to obtain a Battle ID, you need to initialise your pilot by burning a core to your pilot. There are three types of cores, each gives different benefits.

  • Average core: This gives you a blank Battle ID, which means that you’re just granted entry to play the game.
  • Normal core: This gives you a Battle ID that grants you 2 free armour plates for your first mission and 5 free levels free throughout the lifetime of the game. This means that as new versions release and new modes with different stat pools are added, a normal core grants you 5 free levels every time. Additionally, Taiyo drops external boxes, which are tradeable in the internal marketplace, and normal cores are given a rarer box than average.
  • Rare core: This gives you a Battle ID that grants you 5 free armor plates for your first mission and 15 free levels throughout the lifetime of the game. This means as new versions release and new modes with different stat pools are added, a rare core grants you 15 free levels every time. Additionally, Taiyo drops external boxes, which are tradeable in the internal marketplace, and rare cores are given a rarer box than any other core type.

Level gating

Each mission has a minimum level requirement that level is needed to enter the mission. The higher level you are the higher rewards you can earn.

Buying your pilot

Marketplaces display both the “level” and the core which has been attached to your pilot. Note once cores are attached they cannot be changed.
This example is a level 30 with an average core burned onto the pilot.
To check the pilot data is correct copy the mint address of the pilot and enter into the inspector or the game site here
If you have a pilot with no core you must initialise via the game site by burning a core onto your pilot.

Missions

Each mission is level gated, higher level missions have higher level rewards. Pilots level up by using $GP.
There are 100 levels in the Pilot game. Each level adds on bonus survivability and aim which makes your Pilot less likely to be hit and more likely to hit the enemy.
For reference the following is costs for associated levels:

Level 10 – 19.60 $GP
Level 35 – 155.61 $GP
Level 100 – 1450 $GP

Bonus stats: Bonus stats on top of levels add increased chance of dodging, stamina and aim these stats only go to level 10 and serve as additional bonuses for greater ability to survive and gameplay, these stats carry over into v2 PVE.
Aim = Increased chance to hit someone and fatally kill an enemy.
Agility = Increased chance of dodging attacks and bullets missing you.
Stamina = Extend revive time before heading to the sanctuary.
Next, choose your mission, send your pilots and wait for the battle to end.

Outcomes

Outcomes of the mission are determined not only by the teams but the individual stats and any armour on your pilot. All pilots who SURVIVE mission will get a equal payout from the mission’s prize pool.
Losing/”Death state“. Players can get critically wounded in the game and go into a “death state” , a % of the players from the side that lost the battle go into a death state but also the winning side players can be critically wounded and fall into the same state.
Failure to pay $GP in the allotted time will result in the Pilot dying and going into the “Sanctuary” which means that they go up for auction in $GP

Review

Taiyo Pilots burst onto the scene, triggering a frenzy of applications for the coveted Pilot List and sparking a mad rush on Taiyo Oil in pursuit of those precious Pilot Drops. But what began as an eruption of excitement soon morphed into a  saga of dashed hopes and botched reveals. The moment of reckoning came when the floor price was 40+, the project’s leadership made a jarring decision to scrap the current art lineup, deeming it unworthy of the ambitious vision. As the wait chipped away at the community’s enthusiasm and the once soaring prices plummeted to a dismal low of 2.6Sol, alienating a significant segment of its once-enthralled fan base. Despite the impending release of Faction Wars, a shadow loomed. With some factions slated for delayed art reveals, their allure pales in comparison to their more visually striking counterparts.

Though the game has been released, it struggles to grip the players’ attention. The reasons, ranging from underwhelming rewards to a saturated idle gaming landscape. Yet, in the face of adversity, Taiyo has in the past proved it can overcome market conditions. The V2 of Faction Wars promises a shift, transitioning from only the the cutthroat PvP model to a more collaborative Player vs. Environment (PVE) setup. Adding intrigue to the mix is the impending arrival of the elusive “Overlords” faction, accessible only to those who have made significant sacrifices on the perilous journey.

In the realm of idle gaming, success hinges on the value of the token, and $GP, with its numerous drains, struggles to carve a path to the much-desired upward price trajectory. The deceleration of the Taiyo launchpad, dictated by the unpredictable tides of the market hinders the token’s ascent to loftier heights.

However, unlike other tokens $GP will have buying pressure from outside the game itself setting it apart from other ponzi like idle games. With Solport Tom at the helm, a revered figure in the community, and the entire Taiyo team pouring their hearts and souls into the project is this enough to become triumphant in the end?
