A quick guide on how to create a wallet for the $SUI blockchain. The name of the wallet we will be using is “Sui Wallet”
Step 1: Navigate to the Sui Wallet extension download
These wallets perform best on any Chrome-based browser. A link to the authentic Sui Wallet is provided below:
Sui Wallet Chrome Extension
That page should look something like the image below.
Step 2: Add Sui Wallet extension to your browser
Simply click the “Add to Chrome” button and the extension will be added to your browser. This should open up a new window for us to sign-in, but we can also verify the extension was added by clicking the extension plug-in button at the top right of the window and “Sui Wallet” should now appear, as shown below.
Step 3: Sign-in to Sui Wallet
There are a few sign-in options for Sui, including linking it to a Google email sign-in. We are going to ignore those for this guide and instead create a fresh wallet with no Web2 account affiliations.
Click the sign-in button labelled “More options”. That should provide us the additional options shown in the image below. Select “Create a new Passphrase Account”.
Step 4: Create Wallet Sign-in
Create a strong password for your wallet and be sure to save this somewhere. Once you have your sign-in details chosen, click “Create Wallet”
Step 5: Record your Recovery Phrase!
With all crypto wallets, it is absolutely critical that you record your recovery phrase somewhere safe. This phrase will be used to recover your wallet if you ever lose access to your device, but that also means anyone that has it can take control of your wallet so never share it!
With that done, now click “Open Sui Wallet”
Step 6: Enjoy your Sui Wallet
Congrats, your wallet is set up! At this time, the wallet has no funds in it. We will cover how to send and receive funds later.
From this window you are able to do a series of thing such as record your Sui Wallet address, create additional wallets under this same sign-in and recovery phrase, and much more. Feel free to explore the options, just stay safe and secure and don’t connect your wallet to anything you are sure is safe!
