AI regulations in the European Union

AIA = Artificial Intelligence Act, a full set of rules for AI

The EU has suggested the Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA) in April 2023. It tries to set up a full set of rules for artificial intelligence. The business thinks that the Act will pass this year, but there is no set date.
The main points are summarized below.
I will update this article when there are new decisions.

  • Legislators in the European Union have proposed a law to classify the risk of AI tools.
  • They will require app developers who employ generative AI to disclose if they use any copy-protected materials.
  • The EU’s AI Policy tries to protect people while also encouraging innovation and economic growth.
  • AI tools will have to follow stricter rules for transparency, and AI companies in the US will have to follow EU data security rules.
  • Legislation has been in the works for two years, and will be completed after more talks between governments and member states.
  • AI has been criticized for its use in content development and finance, as well as its implications for data protection and government control.
