About Decimus Dynamics

The Decimus Dynamics is an NFT ecosystem, currently comprised of two existing collections (Three are stated in the roadmap but details on Zeons are yet to be announced). The original Decimus (OG Decis) and the Mobile Fortress. Decimus Dynamics runs on a gamified staking system and a revenue sharing system backed by DeFi Investments. The project is lead by Greg9000.

Decimus Dynamics centers on the concept of melding three of their core aspects into one vision. These aspects are: The Science Fiction genre, Decimus Dynamics as a Role Playing Game and it being an NFT collection. The project’s ecosystem currently revolves under three (3) collections: The Decimus /OG Decis, The Mobile Fortresses and the Zeons (TBA).

Overview of the Collections:

The Decimus / OG Decis:

  • A collection of 4000 mechanically inspired NFTs that can take on expeditions to accrue $DEDS (the project’s native token).

The Mobile Fortress:

  • A collection of 1000 NFTs that are unlocked when an OG Deci reaches level 8 in expeditions.

The Zeons:

  • The Zeons are the alien race opposing the OG Decis (details on the collection are still be announced).

The Updated Roadmap:

Despite early challenges, the Decimus Dynamics project has made significant progress since November 2022. A rebrand of whole collection was put into motion and these are some key milestones they have achieved:

  • November 2022: Launch of the Expeditions platform and Auto Meta-data Updater.
  • Early December 2022: Introduction of the Luxurion Casino for Deci holders to earn rewards.
  • January 2023: Release of Levels 4, 5, & 6 Expeditions and the LDED Casino Chips for a weekly “Wheel Game.”
  • February 2023: Rebranding of Decimus Dynamics and preparation for the Mobile Fortress mint.
  • March 2023: Launch of the Mobile Fortress launchpad and minting of Mobile Fortresses.
  • April 2023: Celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Decimus Dynamics collection mint date and continuation of the Mobile Fortress minting.

Utility

Managed De-Fi Revenue and The Long Term Meta

Decimus Dynamics rewards its holders by airdropping $USDED from the net rewards gained through the project’s “managed DeFi plays.” The project’s treasury balance in DeFi investments is projected to grow year over year, even with conservative estimates. It is expected to reach $50,000 after year one, $100,000 after year two, and $200,000 after year three, thanks to consistent monthly airdrops to Mobile Fortress holders.

Decimus Dynamics is designed for long-term value appreciation. The project’s strategy is built around supply and demand dynamics, creating demand for OG Decimus Dynamics, Mobile Fortress, and Zeon Race NFTs by offering increasing revenue rewards for staking over time. The $DEDs token’s value will grow through the demand generated within the Decimus.

Collection Utilities

Decimus Dynamics utilities generally lies in the gamification of their rewards that are acquired by sending the Decis to expeditions. This mechanic has then evolved with the inclusion of the Mobile Fortress. Let’s breakdown the process:

  1. Supply Shock #1: The initial phase focuses on leveling up OG Decimus NFTs to unlock Mobile Fortresses, leading to the first supply shock in Decimus listings on the secondary market.
  2. Supply Shock #2: The extended roadmap introduces upgrades for the OG Decimus collection and the release of the Zeon Alien Race collection, causing a second supply shock. This strategy aims to increase the value of both collections.

OG Decimus Collection Utilities:

  • OG Decis are able to go on Expeditions and level up (max is level 8).
  • Earning of $DEDS (Level 0= 3 $DEDS / Level 8 + Fortress = $12 DEDS)
  • Each level represents a milestone that will unlock new rewards for the holders (Loot Crates at Level 4 / Fortress Keycard at Level 7)
  • 2 Level 8 OG Decis can be staked with a Fortress to earn monthly airdrop of Rev Rewards paid out in $USDED.

The Mobile Fortress Utilities:

  • Upon unlocking the Mobile Fortress at Level 8, this can be sent into expeditions with 2 OG Decis and yield  12USDED.
  • Mobile Fortresses unlock the ability to receive monthly rev-share from the DeFi investments and revenue.
  • The Decimus project’s fund manager expects the project’s treasury to grow steadily. With regular monthly airdrops of $USDED to Mobile Fortress holders, the projections are $50,000 in year one, $100,000 in year two, and $200,000 in year three.

The Zeons Utilities:

  • TBA.

$DEDS and $USDED Utilities

Overview of $DEDS

  • 10,000,000 $DEDS capped supply.
  • $DEDs primary use is to send Decis on Expeditions.
  • $DEDs will additionally be used to pay for DEDS Expeditions & Turbo Boost.
  • As well as Decimus Zeon Upgrades & Trait Shop.

Overview of $USDED

  • $USDED is created to match supply one for one with the amount of $USDC in the Decimus Managed DeFi swap wallet.
  • $USDED primary use is to be airdropped to holders of staked Mobile Fortresses.
  • $USDED can be hodled or swapped on the Decimus proprietary token swap.
  • $USDED potential future “in project” uses (TBA).

Review

Let me start this off by saying that there is a lot to unpack about Decimus Dynamics, and I have to say that the amount of time I spent researching was well worth it. To be fair, I’m a sucker for anything that reminds me of mechs, sci-fi, and Warhammer.

I will divide the review into subsections so I can allow myself to really dive deep into this review.

An Overview of Decimus Dynamics’ History:

During the time that Greg 9000 took half of the reigns of the project, along with Reno, the project’s direction changed but was still within its core. His recent interview with Marc Colcer recently highlighted the story of Decimus Dynamics and its rebirth from the liquidity drain that happened early on in the project’s history. According to Greg 9000, since a good portion of it was invested in a number of De-Fi protocols, Decimus Dynamics still had a decent enough runway to continue building even after the unfortunate liquidity drain.

In my opinion, this deserves a lot of praise, as it showed a good degree of foresight from the project’s co-founder and enough dedication to keep the project on its feet. However, this is affected by the current stigma against projects that go through such a thing as a liquidity drain and therefore affects general interest and trust from outside investors.

Decimus Dynamics Collection:

Strong Points:

While Decimus Dynamics’ has three collections, which may seem to inflate the project, the existing two collections work well enough together, in my opinion. The OG Decis still exists as the core collection, with the Mobile Fortresses acting as a reward for being a holder (the collection is also smaller, sitting at 1000 NFTs).

  • The Mobile Fortresses did not work as “Gen 2s,” but rather as an extension of the collecting that supported the OG collection, which only helped to bring up the value.
  • This kind of relationship is mostly forgotten by other projects, as they often just add a new collection to either bring up liquidity or as an excuse to take on another venture outside of their original collection.
  • The gamified aspect of the Expeditions is really important to take note of, as well as the fact that it does work as a decent token sink for $DEDS, along with the upgrades, boosts, expedition costs, loot crates, and Mobile Fortresses. OG Decis will be upgraded soon to take on a new look as well.
  • This, along with their model of revshare which works with the USDED token, adds real-world value and passive income to the holders of the project. It isn’t a huge amount, but the community seems mature enough to understand why certain limitations on emissions are being put out.
  • The management of their DeFi investments and revenue is also a good indicator that the team understands that, at least for now, the goal is to keep the project afloat while rewarding their holders as they continue to build up their vision of what Decimus Dynamics will be.
  • As much as I love their art and lore, I decided to put it last because I did not want to define the project in that way, but these are still important factors that drive the Decimus Dynamics brand. I am a big fan of being able to see behind the scenes and the development. The art and the lore may very well be their strongest suits in both gaining and maintaining a new audience.

Weak Points:

While the project has delivered on a lot of aspects in their updated roadmap and core goals, Decimus Dynamics’ main concern is that it still remains outshined amongst a pool of other projects that have the same concept and, at the moment, appear a bit shinier.

  • This gamified concept of the project and how it applies to every part of the collection seems to be working well enough, but it isn’t something necessarily new.
  • The weekly Bounty Hunt missions throw me off as even with good intentions, it only appears as way to augment the floor price temporarily.
  • The project’s external revenue comes from a strong investment thesis in DeFi with a runway that is meant to play the long game, but there is always a risk that, while it has since evolved and undergone significant changes over the years, it will still present a degree of volatility.
  • While Greg has been very vocal about the project’s status and has been expanding their reach, Decimus Dynamics will soon need a good catalyst that can propel their name once again and bring more eyes to the project.

Conclusion:

Decimus Dynamics ticks off a lot of the things that I look for in projects, including art, a good and capable team, a mature holder base, and a sustainable backend plan. The team and the project know what it is, and the energy and resources are spent accordingly. Their information is all available on their servers and accounts, so I encourage you to check them out and see more of what Decimus Dynamics is. While not immediate, I see potential in the team and the project. I think that it deserves more credit than it currently has.
