Darknet Games is the chief product of the AntiSocials and functions as a Web3 gaming aggregator and social hub. By collating together the best games available in the space onto one platform, DarkNet Games aims to become a one-stop shop for gaming enthusiasts. In addition to playing the games themselves, players will be able to place wagers on their performance, as well as create and participate in various tournaments.
The social hub allows players to create their profiles, link social media accounts and start engaging with the rest of the community. This can range from challenging other players to a game and wager as well as empowering creators to build their brand and content through the platform.
For anybody building a Web3 game, there is at present no limit or upfront cost to having your game listed on DarkNet Games.
Think of DarkNet Games as a combination of your favourite platforms:
There are additional features such as:
The website currently only features one game, however the next update will bring in 5 new games to go live in conjunction with DarkNet’s partnership with the BONK Foundation and Bonkade
Revenue is generated through a 5% fee on their Play 2 Win feature with that fee being split 50/50 between DarkNet and the partner game.
The Antisocials are a collection of 7K PFPs based on human characters. The goal for the team was to create a versatile and universal PFP reflective of the gaming community behind it. Where many gaming projects at present have full body ‘Avatars’ rather than PFPs, the Antisocials want to become synonymous with the gaming community. The design also lends itself to cartoon-style animations and games for content to be built around.
Minted NFTs will be instantly revealed, bringing back that element of excitement to the minting process.
At present, there is also a pre-sale collection called Auto-Breachers which can be traded on your favourite marketplace. Holders of these NFTs will be given an Antisocial NFT when the time comes as where as additional benefits related to DarkNet’s future cross-chain plans.
The team have revealed the following future plans for the platform:
Any game featured on DarkNet will have wagering enabled for players and in the future, spectators as well. The structure of these contests is as follows:
In addition to token support, the platform will operate on a points system.
Points can be earned via:
Points can be used:

As a platform, I believe DarkNet is a very clever and scalable idea. Rather than trying to build their own games and all the difficulties that come with that, they are providing an interface to bring all these projects together. The sentiment behind this idea is also very positive. In a space that is heavily project vs project, game vs game, it is refreshing to see a project looking to provide collaboration and cross-promotion across these different games. The platform helps bring a game’s audience onto DarkNet and provide exposure for them to other games in the ecosystem.
With no upfront costs for the games to list on the aggregator, it becomes a no-brainer for them to do so, especially with the potential revenue to be made from DarkNet’s wager system on top. They have nothing to lose, and revenue to gain. This appeal also increase DarkNet’s potential to scale.
My biggest reservation is based on the general perception of gaming in Web3. There have been very few, if any, games really take off in the space and even then, their biggest appeal to players of the game is more about making money than actually enjoying the game itself. I would point to The Heist as an example. I would wager that more people are playing that game for the potential to make money from the $NANA token than for enjoyment of the game.
No doubt, a large portion of the Web3 community would be gamers, but they will typically go for more mainstream games like Call of Duty, Fortnite etc. for their entertainment and for a game to compete with that purely on an entertainment level, it’d have to be pretty special.
The biggest point that stood out for me is that everything built so far has been paid for already by the Founders which is a huge tick. Founders willing to put their own skin into what they are building is a huge green flag rather than just relying on mint funds to create a product. Having a functioning product before the NFTs are minted is definitely a positive sign.
