Coinbase Launches Bitcoin & Ethereum Futures for US Traders

November 2nd, 2023
Cryptocurrency traders in the US can now enjoy the benefits of accessing crypto futures through Coinbase Financial Markets. Following their recent approval as a futures commission merchant (FCM) by the National Futures Association, Coinbase has introduced this new feature. This advancement allows traders to mitigate risks, diversify portfolios, leverage trades, and make speculative predictions on market trends. To engage with these futures contracts, US traders need to utilize the Coinbase Advanced trading platform and hold a spot trading account with the exchange. Notably, these contracts are tailored to suit the needs of retail traders, featuring smaller sizes such as 1/100th of a bitcoin and 1/10th of Ethereum. Consequently, these contracts require lower upfront capital, making them an affordable investment option for a wider range of retail customers.
