Chainlink has announced the integration of Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) with its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), enhancing the movement of stablecoins across blockchains. This collaboration aims to expand stablecoin applications in payments and DeFi. Sergey Nazarov, Chainlink's co-founder, highlights the security benefits of CCIP's multi-layered decentralization. While both CCTP and CCIP aim to bridge assets across networks, they differ in function: CCTP enables native USDC transfers across seven networks, and CCIP allows data and asset transfers via Chainlink oracles.
