Aurory Game Hit by Exploit, Leading to Major Token Theft and Marketplace Disruption

December 19th, 2023
Aurory, a popular Pokémon-like battler game, suffered a significant exploit resulting in the theft of around 600,000 AURY tokens, valued at approximately $830,000. The attack utilized a race condition on its off-chain marketplace, allowing simultaneous buy requests and double crediting to sellers. This led to an 80% drop in AURY-USDC liquidity on Camelot and a 17% fall in AURY's price. Aurory has disabled its SyncSpace blockchain bridge and is working on a global patch. The exploit didn't compromise user funds or NFTs.
